Times are changing. You can hear it here on Spotify. All other streaming services have it as well.
This song goes back to the mid 90s.
Lyrically it was about the crack epidemic, hitting the streets at that time and how society had changed dramatically because of it. Neighborhoods would become no-go zones and families would be torn apart. Kids were even born addicted to crack.
I was in a band in 1999 called Free Peace and we jammed the music a few times, and only played it live once with the old lyrics.
Here they are.
V1
Look around see the youth of today
Crumbling away into decay
Out on the streets cutting deals
Selling crack their sanity on the line
PRE1
It’s a revolution in their eyes, Against society and it’s lies
CHORUS
Times are changing, rearranging
V2
Dressed to kill with gothic looks Doc Martin boots and unholy books No innocent love stories with needle marked arms
Pale skin and varicose veins
PRE2
It’s easy money selling honey
To the sweet on the street
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Smashed on dope one night Hallucinating on acid the next Injected with morphine
Is this our GenerationX
The song then sat in my archives for a long long time. It came to light again when my kids came across my old tapes and started to digitize those tapes.
Suddenly the song was back into my life.
But the lyrics had to change as I wanted to update them to show how fast time goes.
Here is a photo of a sample of rewrites I did.

And I did alot or rewrites.
Musically this song is very 80s based.
The cover was generated by an AI app called “Firefly Adobe”. It’s a great app. Just type what you want and you get samples.
I typed in “burning time over history”. And the rest is history.
Play it loud.
